Branding 101

This was a featured business topic at one of our past events in 2015, so I wanted to share it with you here.

When thinking of Branding, it starts with YOU.

Igniting your movement should be fun, so we’re going to dive into ways to uncover your brand, and more.

Developing a personal brand is similar to product branding. It is the way you market yourself to the world. It’s your calling card. It’s what you are known for and how people experience you and your business.

The goal to branding yourself in the market place is to stand out among your competition. You want to bring who you are to what you do and how do you do it.

As the CEO of your own company, what you do in life and even on social media reflects on your business.

You want to be authentic. Lead from your heart. Don’t copy someone just because they’re successful, although you can gleam great insight from them, just add your own flair. Just BElieve in YOUrself and Rock it out!

Your appearance when conducting business matters. People perceive how much you care about your brand by the way you show up. Look in the mirror before you leave, would you do business with yourself?

Knowledge of your product and/or service matter infinitely. Do research, on your own products/services, but also on your competition.

Grab a notepad and a pen, and let’s discover more about you and your brand. No one has to see these answers but you, so write down your thoughts or what you want to change, and then adjust where you need to.

How to Uncover Your Personal Brand

  • What is your vision?
  • What is your purpose?
  • What are your values and passions?
  • What makes you unique?

Identifying Your Target Market

  • Who needs to know about your product or service?
  • What problem points can you resolve with your product or service?
  • Create a brand statement to define your vision, purpose, passion and uniqueness.

Analyzing Your Personal Brand

  • Do people have a positive awareness about who you are?
  • Do they associate you with quality and efficient work?
  • Do they trust you?
  • Do you believe in yourself and your mission?

Adjusting Your Brand Identity

  • What do you want to be known for?
  • Be consistent and persistent.
  • Build your reputation on honesty and integrity.
  • Define who you want to help, and how you will go about helping them.
  • Think about how you will differentiate yourself, or make yourself memorable.

Your Reputation is crucial in the branding process. People will form opinions of you, positive or negative, so if you aren’t where you want to be, be open to change. Seek out a life coach to help you get to where you want to be.

You have 60 seconds to make the first impression a lasting impression. Step it up to stand out!

To YOUR Success,
